Back in 2018, we heard some talk about a possible Switch version of Indie Pogo, a platform brawler game featuring a slew of indie characters. Lowe Bros. Studios made it official as part of a new announcement today.

The Switch version of Indie Pogo will contain all previously released content, including all DLC. Players on the console will also have access to all upcoming DLC packs like Octodad from Octodad: Dadliest Catch, Gunvolt from Azure Striker Gunvolt, Dust from Dust: An Elysian Tail, and a fighter from Awesomenauts.

After GameMaker Studio 2 support was announced for Switch earlier this year, Lowe Bros. Studios expressed interest in bringing its platform brawler to the console. The developer shared a brief update this week. Once the Steam version drops, Lowe Bros. intends to pitch the game to Nintendo.

Indie Pogo is just a few days away from its Steam launch, as it’s planned for July 10. It has playable fighters from Shovel Knight, Freedom Planet, Bit.Trip, Freedom Planet, VVVVVV, and more.

The recent announcement of GameMaker Studio 2 support on Switch has been a very big deal. After the news was made known, a number of developers have come forth expressing interest in bringing their games to the console.

Indie Pogo, a fighter featuring a mashup of indie characters, is another title that may end up on Switch. After hearing about the compatibility between the engine and Switch, Lowe Bros. Studios is looking into the possibility. That doesn’t mean a Switch port is officially happening, but it’s a very encouraging first step.
