The Battle Cats POP! is out now on the North American and European eShops. Check out some footage from the game below.

Downloads for The Battle Cats POP! in Japan have exceeded 400,000 units, PONOS has announced. It originally launched in Japan last May.

Meanwhile, the game is making its debut in the west today. The game can now be purchased from the 3DS eShop.

With most games, we’re used to seeing eShop releases on Thursdays. But The Battle Cats POP! will apparently be one of the exceptions, as Nintendo has it listed for launch in North America on June 27.

We’ve been waiting quite awhile for The Battle Cats POP!, which debuted in Japan last year. We have an English trailer and an overview below.

Rampage across the globe with weird ‘n wild Cats in an exciting but straight-forward tower defense adventure!

Collect 100s of fightin’ Cats to power up your army, take down bizarre and hilarious enemies and win glorious treasure!

Does the name “Battle Cats” ring a bell? This is a 3DS game was announced (and subsequently released) in Japan following a Nintendo Direct last year.

It now appears that the tower defense title will soon be available in English. A few hours ago, developer PONOS tweeted out the following:


That definitely sounds like a localization announcement to me! To get a better idea as to what the game is about, we’ve included the video below.
