The Super Mario Bros. Movie nominated for Best Animated Film at Golden Globes and more

The Super Mario Bros. Movie has picked up a few nominations for the 2024 Golden Globes, including Best Animated Film.
Nintendo and Illumination’s project will be battling it out against five other movies. The Boy and the Heron, Elemental, Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse, Suzume, and Wish are also nominated.
This isn’t the only award The Super Mario Bros. Movie is eligible for. Also notable is that “Peaches”, which was sung by Bowser (Jack Black) in the film, is up for Best Original Song. It will be competing with “Addicted to Romance” from She Came to Me, “Road to Freedom” from Rustin, and “Dance the Night”, “I’m Just Ken”, and “What Was I Made For?” from Barbie.
Finally, The Super Mario Bros. Movie is nominated for Cinematic and Box Office Achievement. Barbie, Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3, John Wick: Chapter 4, Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning Part 1, Oppenheimer, Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse, and Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour are eligible as well.
