Where to find Raging Bolt in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet

Wondering where to find Raging Bolt as part of Pokemon Scarlet and Violet’s The Indigo Disk DLC? We’ve got you covered there.

Raging Bolt is a past paradox form of Raikou, and it’s brand new to the DLC. Whereas Raikou is a pure Electric-type Pokemon, Raging Bolt is an Electric/Dragon-type modeled after a dinosaur. Walking Wake, a fellow member of its trio, was already available in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet’s base game via a limited-time Tera Raid Battle event. That’s not the case for Raging Bolt, however – as long as you’re playing Pokemon Scarlet (the game it’s exclusive to), you’ll be able to catch it for yourself with no time limit.

After visiting Blueberry Academy’s Terarium for the first time, you’ll find Perrin, who tells you to come back after you’ve registered 200 Pokemon in your Blueberry Academy Pokedex. That’s not the entire Pokedex, but it is a good chunk of it. Once you’ve finished this task, you’ll be able to go on an expedition to Area Zero where Raging Bolt will spawn and is available for you to catch.

Unfortunately, there’s only one of these available in Pokemon Scarlet, and it’s available at a specific spot in Area Zero. If you’re interested in knowing where to find Raging Bolt in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet’s DLC, it’s the lowest part of the grassy area, just before the cave – more specifically, it’s in an area with a shallow water floor near a gigantic waterfall (as shown above). Since there’s only one of these Pokemon available in-game and it’s exclusive to Scarlet, it’ll take quite a bit of effort to get more than one. More specifically, you’d need to complete the entire main game on a second file, and then complete the Teal Mask, the Indigo Disk, and then get 200 Pokemon registered in your Pokedex.

Even with Raging Bolt caught, there are still two other past paradox forms of Legendary Pokemon you’ll need to catch – paradox Entei and paradox Suicune. Fortunately, we’re hard at work on new guides for Pokemon Scarlet and Violet’s Indigo Disk DLC, and we have a full list of them right here. Do you like Raging Bolt’s design? Is it your favorite of the three, or do you like either of its prehistoric counterparts better? Let us know down below.
