Worms Armageddon Anniversary Edition

Team17 is bringing Worms Armageddon: Anniversary Edition to Switch, the company revealed today. It releases on September 26, 2024.

Worms Armageddon originally released in 1999. The turn-based strategy game did appear on N64, but a version was also made for Game Boy Color.

Team17 Digital and Digital Eclipse are partnering together on the new version. There’ll be various features and additions such as online play, display features, an interactive museum, and a new save system. You’ll even be able to play the Game Boy Color version.

Here’s some additional details:

This Anniversary edition will be released on September 26th and will now allow console players a chance to get stuck into the artillery insanity of worms, for the first time. The developers have poured a lot of love into the enhancements, with many quality-of-life improvements and a completely redesigned UI across all platform versions.

Additional Features:

  • Optimized controller support for all consoles.
  •  New display features such as modern aspect ratios, custom screen filters, enhanced HD and graphics options.
  • Fully playable Game Boy Color version of Worms Armageddon
  • An interactive museum that charts the history of the entire series. Featuring never-before-seen interviews with developers of the original and current games.
  • New save system

Worms Armageddon will feature online support, allowing up to six players to team-up or compete.
