WRC Generations

WRC Generations was announced earlier this year, but there was no sign of the racer ending up on Switch. However, publisher Nacon has now confirmed plans to release a version for Nintendo’s console – it’ll just be released sometime after the initial launch, which is set for October 13.

According to Nacon, “WRC Generations celebrates the arrival of a new generation of hybrid cars and the new racing thrills they bring, as well as a brand-new Leagues mode that matches players against others of a similar level.” The game is said to be “the most advanced title in the series and has the largest selection of cars, rallies and special stages ever included in a video game.”

Breaking down the numbers, WRC Generations will have 750 km of unique special stages in 22 countries, 49 teams from the 2022 season (Rally1 / Rally2 / Junior WRC), 37 legendary cars plus additional bonuses, and 165 timed special stages. And going into specifics regarding new features, the title is receiving new hybrid vehicles, “even more realistic vehicle physics”, a LEAGUES mode that lets players challenge others, a new Rally Sweden environment, in-game team creation and management, and more.

Here’s a trailer for the game:

Given Nacon’s past releases, we should eventually be seeing WRC Generations on the Switch eShop as well as in stores.
