Xenoblade Chronicles 3 will include both English and Japanese voices together for its release, Nintendo and Monolith Soft have confirmed. That means dual audio is supported right out of the gate. Players won’t need to go through an extra download in order to access the Japanese voice cast.

With Xenoblade Chronicles 2, things were handled a bit differently. Nintendo distributed version 1.1 after launch and players then needed to download the free Japanese-Voice Pack DLC. They could then choose between English and Japanese voices in the settings.

Xenoblade Chronicles 3 should be avoiding most of this. There’ll presumably be an option to toggle between in the menu where players can easily swap between English and Japanese. Again, there won’t be any sort of update or DLC needed.

Nintendo passed along the news about Xenoblade Chronicles 3 supporting dual audio with English and Japanese voices on Twitter today. An in-game scene was shown with both languages. Fans have also noticed as of late that Monolith Soft has implemented better lip synching this time around compared to the last entry in the series, which can be seen in the video below.

Xenoblade Chronicles 3 launches for Switch on July 29, 2022.
