Xenoblade Chronicles: Definitive Edition had a big blowout in this week’s Nintendo Direct Mini. We finally know that the RPG is coming to Switch on May 29, and new information about what’s new for this release was shared. Additional tidbits have since come in as well.

Future Connected is a brand new epilogue created for Xenoblade Chronicles: Definitive Edition. Have you already played the game on another system? Then you’ll be happy to hear that you can access Future Connected immediately – you don’t have to beat the story to access the extra story.

For the New 3DS version of Xenoblade Chronicles, amiibo functionality was included in which players could earn tokens by scanning the Shulk amiibo. Those tokens could then be used to unlock music and animated 3D character models. It’s been confirmed that this amiibo feature will not be included in Xenoblade Chronicles: Definitive Edition.

Something else to mention concerns the soundtrack. In the Nintendo Direct Mini, what was said during the Xenoblade Chronicles segment made it seem like only some of the soundtrack will be remastered. But Nintendo has since noted that there will be over 90 pieces of music remastered, so pretty much the entire soundtrack has been touched up.

Finally, we have a look at a few preview pages from the special edition for Xenoblade Chronicles: Definitive Edition. Hit up the gallery below to see them.
