Yakuza Kiwami Nintendo Switch update improves performance
Yakuza Kiwami just received an update on Nintendo Switch, bringing the game to version 1.01. Players are advised to download it now.
There’s not much to the patch notes, but it’s still a notable update. SEGA says that Yakuza Kiwami’s new version 1.01 update includes some performance improvements.
The uneven performance is something that we highlighted in our review. “There seems to be no rhyme or reason as to when and where the game’s frame rate will fold in on itself,” we said. “At times I found the game handily relaying brawls featuring upwards of five dudes, whereas a slow waltz down a barren sidestreet would send the frames per second tumbling into the low 10s.”
While it’s probably the worst case scenario, he’s a look at how things were at launch:

Although it’s traversal rather than combat, a different clip following the patch indicates that Yakuza Kiwami’s performance on Nintendo Switch has been improved:
Braden here, I gave the new update (v1.01) for Yakuza Kiwami on Nintendo Switch a quick run and I can confirm that performance has most definitely been substantially improved! The game feels very stable during traversal when before that was its biggest trouble point. pic.twitter.com/OCWbSuh0Tl
