Grezzo all but confirmed as the dev behind Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom

It won’t come as much of a surprise, but it does indeed look like Grezzo is the main developer behind The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom.

Many had speculated that this would be the case following the game’s reveal earlier in the year. Although Nintendo never confirmed that officially, it was extremely likely. After all, Echoes of Wisdom largely seems to be based on the same engine that powered the Zelda: Link’s Awakening remake that made it to Switch a few years ago.

As for how fans have come to this conclusion, Grezzo is specifically listed in the copyright information for Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom alongside Nintendo. That detail is available now that pre-loading has started – we’re now just a week away from launch.

Even though Grezzo is largely responsible for Echoes of Wisdom, we should note that it’s not as if Nintendo doesn’t have any input. For example, series producer Eiji Aonuma introduced the game as part of the Nintendo Direct announcement a few months ago. More information about who worked on the project should come to light when we see the credits.
