One Piece: Pirate Warriors 3 Deluxe Edition revealed for Switch

Posted on October 22, 2017 by (@NE_Brian) in News, Switch

Bandai Namco is continuing its trend of bringing some of its older titles to Switch. Following Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2 and One Piece: Unlimited World Red Deluxe Edition, One Piece: Pirate Warriors 3 Deluxe Edition has been announced for the console.

One Piece: Pirate Warriors 3 Deluxe Edition, which originally came out in 2015, mashes Koei Tecmo’s Warriors series with the famous manga IP. The new Switch version will come with 42 pieces of DLC. This includes challenge episodes and costumes. Online co-op from the PlayStation versions is missing, but local two-player co-op is supported with two sets of Joy-Con or Pro Controllers.

One Piece: Pirate Warriors 3 Deluxe Edition runs consistently at 30 frames per second on Switch. When docked, it’ll feature a 1080p resolution. It’ll be 720p for portable mode.

One Piece: Pirate Warriors 3 Deluxe Edition launches in Japan on December 21 for 5,800 yen. Bandai Namco hasn’t announced a western release, but it’s possible that news could be shared in the future on that front.

    Oh cool!
i didn’t expected a Switch port to Pirate Warriors 3!

the more games for Switch the Better

  • Locky Mavo

Come on, more games are appreciated, but you can do better than this Bamco.

I can almost guarantee that they’re working on some exclusives or switch versions of upcoming multiplats but in the meantime I really don’t mind them throwing a ton of older games on the switch. Also I’d be cool with other devs having the same approach. I mean early on we heard a ton of devs say switch ports are pretty quick and easy so why not

      Gundam Versus

    • Princess_Eevee9

Ummm this news is hype, Pirate Warriors is one of their best franchise next to their main sites games. I would love to see Soul Caliber & Tales of make an appearance though.

      • Locky Mavo

Don’t get me wrong, I am excited for this game, I just feel Bamco has a lot of other games they could and should be bringing to the Switch, namely the ones most have been asking for, Dragonball FighterZ, Code Vein, Dark Souls or even SAO come to mind. And we know the Tales series will make an appearance in some form on the Switch, but then there’s other games I’d like to see, like remasters of Xenosaga and Baten Kaitos, it’d be nice to see the rest of the Monolith Soft games altogether.

Online Co-Op is missing? Well I hope it finds it’s way back in time for us to get it! I’m excited and expected this to go the Switch Life but missing features? Come on now….

the online in ps4 sucked! :/

      • Princess_Eevee9

Makes me feel better, petty I know.

  • Lance Devon

Watch it be full priced digital only version for NA again.

    • James Fox

Koei Tecmo will most likely force Bamco to release it physically for NA

      • Reggie

Omega Force (extension of Koei Tecmo) were behind Dragon Quest Heroes 1 + 2, and that didn’t get a physical release in NA.

        • Aline Piroutek

And DQ Heroes 1+2 was a crappy port

          • Reggie

Whether it was crappy or not doesn’t matter.

        • James Fox

It’s not releasing in the US at all from what it looks like

          • Reggie

You mean in physical form? Isn’t it available at the eShop? At either rate, this just proves my point.

          • James Fox

      • DeeeFoo

Omega Force is merely the developer for this game. How can they force the publisher (Bamco) to do anything?

      • Lance Devon

We don’t have any concrete evidence KT wouldn’t have the same mindset.

  • Roto Prime

    Yo, Wireless local multiplayer please!!!!

  • Reggie

That said, I wouldn’t mind a Switch port of Hyrule Warriors. I know it’s already been ported to 3DS, but that version isn’t really that good…

  • Kyoko

I don’t play online and I’m fine with 30fps, so… Come on, Bamco! I want this game on my Switch ASAP!

  • StrawhatEevee

Dope!!! Better be a physical release this time, though. I would have double dipped on Unlimited World Red if it had been.

  • Thank you!!! TTuTT

This is the OP game I’ve been wanting to play, so I’m just waiting on localization confirmation now.

At gematsu, OPW4 was mentioned, so here’s hoping WCI does wrap up and give us multi-plat OPW4 soon too.

    • StrawhatEevee

Playable Katakuri, am I right?! Burning Blood would be sick too.

      • Oh my gosh. . . I never even imagined. Yes, please! TTuTT *A*
I was thinking of Burning Blood too! I have so much to hope for now, lol~!

        • StrawhatEevee

For real. That would be really cool. I also wish they’d put that Naruto Ninja Storm collection, or at least the newest one on Switch. All these great anime games that never came to Wii U.

          • Oh, yeah! That’s another cool title that would be nice!
Right~? I hope we get to see at least a few more. It’s sad realizing what the Wii U missed out on.

    • Princess_Eevee9

*Whispers* Pretty Cure Warriors *Slinks away*

      • Okay, but didn’t that win the poll of licensed titles? Or was it Touken Ranbu? I remember PreCure was like, in the top three. And that could be an *AMAZING* game.

  • Evan Gustavson

Woohoo! All we need now are ports of Dynasty Warriors Gundam Reborn, Hyrule Warriors, and Warriors All Stars, and then Switch will become Musou Senshi, uh, I mean Unmatched Warriors in the console war!
(There, I dropped both the franchise’s English and Japanese names in a single phrase, and uttered the phrase in both English and Japanese)
In Japan, anyway. Koei! Port the localizations too!

  • So Namco plan to only give us old games. Minus the secret Tales of game.

  • Really? They have SAO games, Naruto’s, Tales off and they decide on OP?
Sigh, played it on PC and it was a mess, not gonna spend 50$ again on the same garbage

    • Conner Yancy

      youre scum please die

  • DeeeFoo

This is great news for Switch owners. In my opinion, PW3 is probably the best entry in the Musou franchise to date, so I’m glad more people get to experience its greatness.

  • Vorsun

Pirate Warriors 3 was so much fun. Really looking forward to this.
