And below are videos for several of the themes:

Square Enix is constantly releasing new Dragon Quest XI information, and that isn’t going to stop anytime soon. On May 27, a “Countdown Carnival Special Stage” live stream will air (Youtube link here). Dragon Quest creator Yuji Horii will be there alongside Dragon Quest 11 producer Yosuke Saito to reveal more information about the game. Perhaps this will finally be the time we hear something concrete about the Switch version?

A new image has surfaced showing the back of Dragon Quest XI’s boxart. On it, we’re able to see that stereoscopic 3D is not supported. Perhaps that’s not entirely surprising, as other Dragon Quest 3DS titles such as Dragon Quest VIII don’t make use of the feature Nintendo and Square Enix are also teaming up for a New 2DS XL bundle. As we know, that system lacks 3D support.

Dragon Quest XI’s boxart has some other tidbits as well. Three save slots are included, one of which is used for suspend data. You can also exchange data through StreetPass and download special items, etc. via the internet.

Hot on the heels of the game’s announcement last week, we now have the first trailer for One Piece: Unlimited World Red Deluxe Edition. The trailer gives a nice overview of the game’s world and gameplay mechanics. Check it out:

Nintendo has released a new Japanese television commercial for the Switch. The ad puts the focus on multiplayer games that were released recently or will be released shortly, like Minecraft, Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, Super Bomberman R and Ultra Street Fighter II: The Final Challengers.

One Piece: Unlimited World Red Deluxe Edition was announed in the latest issue of Weekly Jump. ShonenGames now has a translated scan up, and in high quality to boot. See it below.

Capcom recently dished out new DLC for its Japanese 3DS game Monster Hunter XX. In partnership with Nintendo, special content based on Zelda: Breath of the Wild was released. A couple of videos showing off the DLC can be found below.

Square Enix has high hopes for Dragon Quest XI. When Square Enix delivered its latest financial results earlier in the week, CFO Kazuharu Watanabe mentioned that the company is looking to achieve sales of five million copies.

Kazuharu’s comment did not refer to one specific version of the game. Dragon Quest XI will be on 3DS and PlayStation 4, and eventually Switch as well. Kazuharu also did not say if the sales target only applies to Japan, though it may be unlikely for the RPG to head overseas within the next fiscal year.

Dragon Quest IX was the last big seller in the franchise at 4.3 million. However, when counting sales in the west, that amount is closer to 5.3 million.

Even if Dragon Quest XI sells more than IX, it might be difficult for it to surpass the DS game in terms of pure profit. After all XI has different versions involved and its scope is much larger.
