When Zelda: Breath of the Wild originally launched last year, Nintendo teamed up with Piggyback for an official guide. The two sides are now working together on a new version.

Listings on retailer sites reveal The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild: Expanded Edition guide. The 512-page hardcover book covers everything in the main game plus the two DLC packs. A new concept art gallery is also included.

You can find a full overview of the guide below. Pre-orders are open on both Amazon and Amazon Canada. Based on the retailer’s information, The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild: Expanded Edition guide launches on February 13.

INCLUDES: Expansion Pass concept art gallery; dedicated chapters covering both Expansion Passes; Reference and Analysis chapter; Maps chapter; all-new hardcover and an extensive 4-page Index.

Maps Chapter: a dedicated 36-page atlas of Hyrule showing the exact location of all Korok seeds and treasure chests.

Reference & Analysis Chapter: contains a farming manual showing how to acquire all items of prime interest efficiently; the best weapons and armor upgrades; the most effective recipes; the most lucrative gemstone mining spots; amiibo; merchants and much more.

Expansion Pass Chapters: 34 pages dedicated to “The Master Trials” and “The Champions’ Ballad”.

100% AUTHORITATIVE: all side quests, all shrines of Trials and all information about collectible items fully mapped out; also includes optional challenges, mini-games, unlockables, Easter eggs, and more.

At-a-glance Walkthroughs: annotated maps and screenshots show the optimal way through every quest and dungeon.

Large map poster: two-sided and fully-annotated – covering the immense game area.

Concept art: direct from the development team and beautifully laid out across two sections: 16 pages of concept art from “The Master Trials” and “The Champions’ Ballad” as well as a 16-page art tour of the main game.

So what exactly does this mean for the guys who bought the first guide? Those of you that did get the first one, are you mad about this?
(side note: Those that got the original guide, what did you think of the explorer’s edition with that other new book?)

I paid like 55$ for the super special edition of the original guide. I will likely also purchase this when Amazon drops the price. They always lower it like 40% before it actually releases.

I got mine for free(thanks to this site) so I’m fine with it.

Ehh, I bought the special edition of the first guide (because I’m a sucker) and ended up never using it. Guides are kind of useless outside of the collector’s aspect in the age of wikis.

Now if only they had announced that they’re reprinting the awesome Master Sword statue from the Legendary edition (or whatever it was called). I was sick in bed when pre orders for that sold out so I’d be all over it if they did!

I have the feeling that 4 different editions (special, master, Explorer and regular) for BotW in United Staes is NOT enough for NoA.

I have the feeling they will make the goty complete edition in a super duper Special Edition.

      • Devlind

Nintendo has never done a “complete edition” in the same system (or did they?), but I wouldn’t be mad if they do.

Have nintendo ever done DLC, sold a season pass? Sold 4 versions of a single game in 9 months, with 4 different guides?
          There’s always a first time.

          • Devlind

That’s why I said I wouldn’t be mad if they do.

I was planning to get the guide just for collecting purposes and this is announced. I’m very lucky, but feel sorry for the people that grabbed the incomplete, worthless and disposable previous guide.
