2019 was the best year yet for Pokemon GO revenue
Pokemon GO has been around since 2016, but it turns out that 2019 was the mobile game’s best year yet. It earned $894 million in gross player spending, which is more than the $832 million made during the launch year.

– $335 million in revenue from the US in 2019 (38 percent)
– Japan revenue was $286 million, or 32 percent of the total
– Germany was # 3 with $54 million, or 6 percent
– Google Play revenue: $482 million, or 54 percent of the total
– App Store revenue: $412 million, or 46 percent of all spending
– $3.1 billion in lifetime player spending lifetime to-date
– Over 55 million installs in 2019
– The U.S. accounted for the majority of downloads, picking up more than 10 million installs, or 19 percent of the total
– Brazil was #2 with more than 5 million downloads (10 percent)
– India was #3 with more than 3 million installs (6 percent)
– Google Play accounted for the majority of downloads at 38 million installs (69 percent)
– App Store had 17 million downloads (31 percent)
– Average revenue per download for Pokemon GO currently stands at $5.70
– The $894 million in gross revenue puts Pokemon GO as the fifth top earner worldwide
– Pokemon GO remains the runaway leader in the location-based gaming category
– Pokemon GO is the only location-based game that has been able to increase its revenue from its launch year
