Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night’s latest update added a hidden 1986 Mode
Back in January, Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night received its latest update, which was highlighted by the addition of Classic Mode. Interestingly, a second hidden mode was included as well.
1986 Mode can be unlocked on the Classic Mode title screen. It can be accessed after inputting the Konami Code (Up, Up, Down, Down, Left, Right, Left, Right, [Horizontal Left Face Button]), [Horizontal Right Face Button]). After this, “1986 Mode” should appear on the bottom of the screen.
1986 Mode is a different take on Classic Mode. It includes several changes referencing the original Castlevania, including:
– No Backflip
– No Backstep
– No Slide
– Mid-air control is reduced
– Cannot jump off stairs
– Cannot jump on to stairs
– Extended whip is not available
– Cannot stand/crouch mid-whip animation
