Octopath Traveler II update out now (version 1.1.0), patch notes

As a surprise to fans, Square Enix just released a new version 1.1.0 update for Octopath Traveler II.

The main draw of the update is an extra battle mode. Here players can “take on formidable enemies, including the heroes of the first Octopath Traveler”.

• Added new mode: Extra Battles (available after clearing the story).

Miscellaneous

• Edited the credits.
• Edited various graphics.
• Implemented new tutorial text for update additions.

Octopath Traveler II originally launched over a year ago, so today’s news certainly comes as a surprise. Square Enix could be looking to promote the series as both entries are showing up on new platforms today. It was previously announced that shipments and digital sales had surpassed one million.
