Fans of Octopath Traveler and its sequel might be wondering if Octopath Traveler III could be in the cards at some point, but the team behind the latest RPG isn’t making any commitments just yet. This was briefly brought up in an interview with Japanese magazine Famitsu.

Director Keisuke Miyauchi, producer Masashi Takahashi, and artist Naoki Ikushima participated in the chat. Takahashi would end up sharing some interesting insight into Octopath Traveler II, and specifically how the team decided to opt for evolution rather than making big changes to the core gameplay of the original.

Octopath Traveler II guild locations

Now that Octopath Traveler II is here on Switch, we’ve put together a new guide that should come in helpful to find all of the game’s guild locations.

Similar to the first game, Octopath Traveler II provides licenses to outfit your party members with secondary jobs. These jobs allow them to access the abilities of other classes, giving your party more variety when in combat. One way to obtain these licenses is by finding various class guilds spread throughout the world.

The guide below will provide the location for each of the main eight class guilds. We also have a video version at the very end of this post.

Octopath Traveler II review

System: Switch
Release Date: February 24, 2023
Developer: Square Enix / Acquire
Publisher: Square Enix

The original Octopath Traveler inspired me to create a now sprawling fan group on social media, one that morphed over into a Switch RPG community when the original game’s fire finally died down. Personally, I loved the unique art style the most – beautiful 3D backgrounds and windswept plains, icy tundras and winding cities each punctuated with cute 2D sprites that felt alive in this strangely unique world. Octopath Traveler II is much of the same, but does this entry simply continue with the formula of the first one, or are the changes enough to keep one immersed more than its predecessor?

Square Enix published new information about Octopath Traveler II that outlines the voice actors for the main cast. Not only do we have the lineup for the English voice work, but Japanese as well. All of the information comes from the official website (English site here, Japanese site here).

A pair of new demos are incoming for Switch. Along with Octopath Traveler II, Kirby’s Return to Dream Land Deluxe will have a trial on the eShop.

With Octopath Traveler II, fans can experience the game’s opening hours. As for Kirby’s Return to Dream Land Deluxe, up to four players can play a specially arranged demo with select stages and subgames.

Octopath Traveler II and Kirby’s Return to Dream Land Deluxe are both due out for Switch on February 24, 2023.

Octopath Traveler II pre-order bonus

Octopath Traveler II isn’t terribly far away, and we’ve started up a guide to keep you informed about pre-order bonuses from retailers as they’re announced.

After the original RPG became a bit of a hit for Square Enix in 2018, the company is gearing up for an official sequel. The new game is slated to hit Switch early next year. Octopath Traveler II retains the same HD-2D style that made the original so famous. However, some improvements and changes are planned, some of which are based on fan feedback.
