Mario Kart 8 Deluxe McDonald's Happy Meal

Nintendo has teamed up with McDonald’s a number of times previously, and that’s the case once again with new Mario Kart 8 Deluxe toys in Happy Meals.

Ten different toys are up for grabs. You’ve got Mario, Luigi, Donkey Kong, Toad, Toadette, Bowser, Peach, Yoshi, Pink Gold Peach, and Gold Mario. The bases can actually be swapped, and karts can be customized with a sticker sheet.

If this news is ringing a bell, that’s because there have been Mario Kart promotions for McDonald’s Happy Meals previously. The first instance of this was for the game’s original Wii U release in 2014 with similar karts. Then in 2022, another Mario Kart promotion was held. However, this new 2024 version is notable for the exchangeable bases, plus the availability of Pink Gold Peachand Gold Mario and karts instead of bikes.

Something else you may remember is that for The Super Mario Bros. Movie, Nintendo and McDonald’s offered a set of toys for the film. We initially covered that news here.

The McDonald’s Mario Kart 8 Deluxe Happy Meal lets customers choose between a hamburger or chicken nuggets. Fries, apple slices, and a drink are also included. A donation is made to Ronald McDonald House Charities with each purchase.

The Mario Kart 8 Deluxe McDonald’s Happy Meals hub can be found here, which has coloring and activity sheets, a closer look at the toys, and a commercial.
