There’s no doubt that Animal Crossing is currently one of Nintendo’s most popular franchises, cementing its place in history with the massive success of New Horizons, which has sold over 45 million copies worldwide. The game has even been praised for being a comforting companion during the global COVID-19 pandemic.
But did you know the franchise almost ended up with a completely different name? In a recent interview with Time Extension, former Nintendo localization manager Leslie Swan shared the challenges of translating the series original title, Dōbutsu no Mori, for Western audiences.

PM Studios and Studio Bravarda have set a release date for Extremely Powerful Capybaras on Switch. The title, which previously launched on PC, will be making its way to Nintendo’s console on September 25.
In this over-the-top roguelite bullet heaven, players take control of the world’s most relaxed animal. You’ll blast through endless waves of bizarre enemies while stacking outrageous weapons and evolutions to become an unstoppable capybara force.

2P Games and Fuse Game have announced that their newest title is on the way to Nintendo Switch. The sci-fi bullet heaven auto-shooter Time Treker will be landing on the console on October 16.
Time Treker is a pixel-art action roguelike in which humanity faces extinction from an alien insect invasion. Players lead a squad of heroes across timelines to battle the swarm and alter history. After each defeat, upgrades can be made on the mothership before heading back into the fight.
