Reminder: Nintendo Direct presentation in a few hours
Posted on 13 years ago by Brian(@NE_Brian) in Site updates | 0 comments
The second pre-recorded Nintendo Direct presentation will kick off in six hours. We’ll post the live stream right here on the main site once it begins. I wouldn’t expect any huge announcements or anything, though we’ll likely hear more about Kid Icarus: Uprising, Fire Emblem 3DS, Tekken 3D: Prime Edition, and other 3DS/Wii titles coming out through March 2012.

3DS surpasses lifetime GameCube sales in Japan
Posted on 13 years ago by Brian(@NE_Brian) in 3DS, GameCube, News | 0 comments
By selling over four million units in Japan, the 3DS has beaten out the GameCube’s lifetime sales. The 3DS stands at 4,135,739 units sold while the GameCube moved 4,040,000 units.
The 3DS reached the four million units sold mark at a much, much quicker pace than the GameCube. Nintendo’s latest handheld has only been out for a few months, yet has already reached the milestone.
Fire Emblem 3DS getting paid downloadable content in March, DLC also coming to Wii U
Posted on 13 years ago by Brian(@NE_Brian) in 3DS, News, Wii U | 0 comments
The first 3DS game to make use of paid downloadable content will be Fire Emblem, according to Nikkei. The site states that Nintendo is looking toward March 2012 to begin paid DLC, which likely means that Fire Emblem will be released during the same month. Players will be able to use credit cards or prepaid cards to purchase new items.
As far as third-parties go, publishers will be able to incorporate paid downloadable content in Summer 2012.
Wii U will also be getting its own share of paid downloadable content, though further details were not provided.
We may hear more about Nintendo’s future DLC plans and Fire Emblem 3DS during the Nintendo Direct presentation later today.

La-Mulana still on its way to North America/Europe
Posted on 13 years ago by Brian(@NE_Brian) in News, Wii | 0 comments
La-Mulana made it out on the Japanese Wii Shop Channel a few months ago. The same cannot be said for the North American and European WiiWare service, though.
While it has taken a considerably long time for the game to arrive in overseas territories, it’s coming… soon.
Nicalis issued the following statement yesterday:
More non-retirement talk from Miyamoto, his favorite Nintendo characters, influences, and more
Posted on 13 years ago by Brian(@NE_Brian) in 3DS, General Nintendo, News, Wii, Wii U | 0 comments
The L.A. Times has a new interview up with Shigeru Miyamoto. Miyamoto was asked to comment on his original “retirement” comments for the umpteenth time, and he apologized for any misunderstanding.
Besides this, there are some other interesting remarks included inside of the interview. Miyamoto is asked about his favorite Nintendo characters (he has a difficult time choosing just one), his influences, and more.
Head past the break for his responses.
