Azure Striker Gunvolt western release plans, Inti Creates talks NA voice acting changes
Azure Striker Gunvolt is coming out in Japan on August 20. Siliconera reports that the North American launch will take place “in the weeks that follow, if all goes as planned.”
At the moment, Inti Creates is currently working on plans for a potential European release, which may include several languages – unlike the North American version.
Inti Creates CEO Takuya Aizu has also commented on the decision to have partial voice-acting for Azure Striker Gunvolt in North America. This edition of the game only has voices during the action portions. There will not be any voices during conversations.
“In the Japanese version of Gunvolt, most conversations are modelled on Japanese subculture, so we had to modify the content of these conversations while localizing the game into English. If you were to combine the Japanese voices with English sentences, it would cause a great gap between them. Therefore, we will not be using these voices in the English version.”
“We believe this is the best way for us to approach this. I apologize for the inconvenience, but please inform the community that is looking forward to Gunvolt.”
Another tidbit about Azure Striker Gunvolt: the game will now include eight pieces of Lumen’s song instead of two.
