Batman: Arkham Trilogy physical release only includes Arkham Asylum on the cartridge

Batman: Arkham Trilogy marks another Switch release that won’t include everything on the physical cartridge when it launches later this year.

As previously reported, the collection includes Batman: Arkham Asylum, Batman: Arkham City, and Batman: Arkham Knight (plus all DLC). However, according to the official FAQ, only the first title is included. Players going physical will need to download Arkham City and Arkham Knight in order to play them.

The official FAQ for the release states:

Batman: Arkham Asylum will be included on the Batman: Arkham Trilogy game cartridge. Batman: Arkham City and Batman: Arkham Knight will require an online connection to download and install both titles when the Batman: Arkham Trilogy cartridge is inserted into the Nintendo Switch console. All three games will then be playable as long as the cartridge is inserted into the Nintendo Switch console.

Warner Bros. has yet to indicate how big the downloads will be for Arkham City and Arkham Knight. Both should require many gigabytes of storage, however.

We heard earlier this week that the physical version of Metal Gear Solid: Master Collection Vol. 1 will have a huge download of its own on Switch. More information about that can be found here.

Batman: Arkham Trilogy launches on Switch this fall.
