“Seek the inconceivable truth of the Starship Damrey and discover why nothing is more frightening than complete innocence.”

Well, the games have been voted on and after an extremely tight race, The Starship Damrey was chosen as our second ever NintendoEverything Book Club (for Video Games!) game! Read below for details on how to get it/what to play.

3DS eShop Copy ($8)

“How far do I have to get this week?”
Deadline for email submissions this week: May 24th

It’s going to be very difficult to divide The Starship Damrey into parts because we all have zero idea exactly how the game is sectioned off (or if the game is sectioned off). What we decided was that we’ll all play roughly two hours of the game, and whoever among the podcast crew got the least far is where we’ll discuss up until.

For you guys? Play as you will. It’s not a very long game from what we’re hearing (2-3 hours), so if you beat it in the first week it’s not a huge deal. Otherwise I’ll try and post more specifics this Thursday or Friday so you have a more concrete idea of where to stop.

Also, please do not send us emails discussing portions of the game beyond where the book club is. We want to avoid spoilers and we don’t want to feel unable to answer your questions/respond to your comments, so if you’ve gotten ahead of everyone (which is fine!) do your best to only talk about the parts that we’ve all agreed upon. :]

Coaster Creator 3D developer Big John Games is bringing Big Bass Arcade: No Limit to the 3DS eShop. Originally planned for a retail release on Wii, the game has now been converted into a digital product for Nintendo’s handheld.

Big John Games already completed the porting process. It’s now being tested by Nintendo.

Big Bass Arcade includes ten lakes, forty tournaments and challenges, seven fish species, ten lures, and a record tracking system. The 3DS’ touch screen or button inputs can be used to reel in a fish.

Nintendo Seals Exclusive Partnership with SEGA on Upcoming Sonic the Hedgehog Games

Nintendo Direct Also Announces Wii U Games Shown at E3 2013 to be Playable at Select Best Buy Stores

REDMOND, Wash.–(BUSINESS WIRE)– The next title in SEGA’s Sonic the Hedgehog franchise will be exclusive to Nintendo’s Wii U home console and Nintendo 3DSportable system. Nintendo Global President Satoru Iwata announced the details of a new partnership with SEGA during a new Nintendo Direct video announcement today. Sonic Lost World is a new action platforming game, and more information about it will be announced before the E3 2013 video game trade show begins on June 11.

The Nintendo Direct also announced Mario & Sonic at the Sochi 2014 Olympic Winter Games for Wii U, and revealed that additional SEGA Game Gear games would be coming to the Virtual Console service for Nintendo 3DS. Outside of SEGA news, Nintendo announced that select Wii U games featured at E3 2013 will soon be playable at participating Best Buy stores, the launch date for New Super Luigi U, new Pikmin 3 game details and additional information about a variety of previously announced Wii U and Nintendo 3DS games.

Zelda: Oracle of Ages/Seasons will cost $5.99 on the 3DS eShop. However, if you purchase either game before June 20, you can nab them for $4.99. Both titles arrive on May 30.

The launch of Mighty Switch Force! 2 may not be too far off. European rating boards PEGI and USK both added the title to their databases today. These kinds of listings usually mean that a game isn’t too far off, so we’re hoping that’s the case here as well.

Two Tribes isn’t done with Toki Tori 2. The studio is still working on the level editor, for instance.

But what lies ahead for Two Tribes? According to Martijn Reuvers, the team will be bringing its “vintage titles” to the Wii U – that includes Toki Tori, EDGE, and RUSH. Two Tribes is also considering EDGE for 3DS, which would be brought over by a separate developer.

“Apart from Toki Tori 2, we’re also planning on bringing our vintage titles, Toki Tori, EDGE and RUSH to the Wii U as well. And we’re in the talks with another developer to bring EDGE to the 3DS as well. But nothing is solid at this point.”
