Pixelscopic could bring Delver’s Drop to the Wii U. The company just wrapped up a Kickstarter campaign and managed to raise nearly $150,000 – double the $75,000 goal.

Delver’s Drop takes inspiration from a ton of different games – Zelda: Link to the Past, Demon’s Souls, Diablo, and a whole lot more.

Nintendo fans will be interested to hear that, even though nothing has been confirmed, Pixelscopic has been in touch with the Big N about becoming an approved developer, and the studio does have interest in bringing its project to the Wii U / 3DS eShops.

According to Pixelscopic’s Ryan Baker:

“We’re fans of the Wii U and 3DS, but we have not decided on a console between the three big platform holders. We will most likely decide this based on how well it does after the PC/Mac/Linux release, and continued fan requests for console. Honestly, we’d love to support all of them, but that would likely be a 6+ month endeavour to add to our tech and support these systems. We had made a Kickstarter stretch goal for the console port, but it looks like that will not be met by the end of our campaign. But as with all other unmet stretch goals, we will consider developing them later if the game is successful and we have continued fan interest.”

Delver’s Drop is planned for release in 2014. Perhaps we’ll see a Nintendo version next year!

The Legend of Zelda: Oracle of Ages/Seasons launched on the Japanese 3DS eShop a couple of weeks ago. Both games haven’t been released on the North American or European stores yet, but they are on the way.

Zelda producer Eiji Aonuma popped up on the series’ official Miiverse community today with a message regarding the launch of Oracle of Ages and Seasons in the west. While he couldn’t provide a specific date for their arrival, he did confirm that both will be available before summer. Hopefully sooner rather than later!
