Shipments of Monster Hunter 4 in Japan have already exceeded two million units. Capcom made the announcement today, while also confirming that the number is the highest ever for a third-party 3DS game in Japan.

As of September 17, total series sales have surpassed 25 million units.

You can find Capcom’s official announcement below.

A DLC quest Capcom intends to offer for Monster Hunter 4 lets players change up their Felynes. Buy Capcom’s magazine – known as Capbon – on September 24, enter the included code to obtain the quest, complete it, and you’ll then be able to synthesize materials to make gear. This allows you to transform the Felyne into Capbon.

For those who are unaware, Capbon the mascot for Capcom’s magazine. It’s a green salamander (or dragon) which holds on to its namesake book.

Hot on the heels of the first game, Level-5 has announced a sequel for the 3DS. Not much is known at present, but a scan (seemingly from CoroCoro) has popped up online.

Will this be a full-fledged sequel? Or more of a side-story? Unsurprisingly, this isn’t known either. It will be a sequel of some sort, though.

Level-5 released the original Youkai Watch for 3DS in Japan on July 11.
