Totally off topic, but I apologize for the temporary lack of updates the past few hours. I picked up the flu earlier this week… not exactly the best time for that! Although I’m feeling slightly better, I’m still battling a number of the illness’ effects.

Introducing Doctor Lautrec…
KONAMI unveils the latest puzzle hero for Nintendo 3DS
Konami Digital Entertainment GmbH has revealed a new puzzle-based adventure game set in the 19th Century Paris for the new Nintendo 3DS handheld system, provisionally entitled Doctor Lautrec and the Forgotten Knights.
Doctor Lautrec and the Forgotten Knights centres on a treasure map that details a series of locations the player must visit as the game progresses. Doctor Lautrec, an archaeology professor, is a combative figure whose love of mysteries and history draw him to follow the many instructions the ancient map details. Lautrec is not a popular man at the University where he teaches, with his unorthodox attitudes also reflected in his less than moral ways of tackling puzzles. Thankfully, he is assisted by a young, eager student called Sophie who uses the adventure to learn from the master and to temper his… excesses.

Reggie: 3DS eye warning reactions have been “a bit over the top”, response to critics
Posted on 13 years ago by Brian(@NE_Brian) in 3DS, General Nintendo, News | 0 comments
This information comes from Reggie Fils-Aime…
“It certainly has been a reaction that has been a bit over the top. [Children 7 and above] can certainly enjoy the 3D features. We are convinced that the Nintendo 3DS is the next entertainment breakthrough. We think it’s going to set us apart.”
Reggie also responded to critics that believe Nintendo is in decline…
“Some so-called experts don’t understand how the maturation cycle works in this industry and the fact is, no one can sell 10 million units of any system year after year. Our competitors continue to be at a place of having to react to what we’ve done and not the other way around.”

– Kid Icarus: Uprising is not a launch window game
– Power cord will be longer than what was shown in Japan
– Bill Trinen on region locking: “One of the primary driving factors for that has to do with parental controls. Different regions have different ratings systems. The region-locking allows us to provide the different parental controls to deal with the ratings in each territory.”
– Trinen providing a multi-tasking example: “Specifically for an example with Zelda, if you’re stuck in the water temple and you’re trying to figure out where the last of the switches are that you have to hit to draw the water level down and get all the way down to the boss, you can immediately hit the home button, bring up the browser, go to whatever tip site you want to go to, figure out where that is, then switch over to the game notes, draw a map on your screen to refer to or go right back into the game.”
– Use the play coins you earn by walking to unlock game content/features in pre-installed apps
– Trinen says “the goal is there will be some messaging functions”
– Register around 100 friends
