This information comes from Okamiden producer Motohide Eshiro…

“As a producer, my concern is what type of experience the players have when playing the game. I don’t want them to feel stressed out; it should be a smooth play experience. So one of the things I thought when we began bringing the game to Nintendo DS is that we had to make sure the camera was right. The original had a poorly-received, fully roaming camera, so on the DS it’s going to be more of a guided experience, the camera is more on a ‘rail,’ though after discussion with Masushita you can move it around a little bit.”

In Okami, players could essentially move the camera in any direction they please, though it wasn’t entirely clear what sort of freedom would be provided in Okamiden. A number of fixed camera angels have been shown in the trailers that have been released up to this point. Based on what Eshiro said, though, you will be able to move it around somewhat.

NINTENDO SHOWCASES TRADITION AND INNOVATION AT GAMESCOM

Anticipated new releases including The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword featuring Wii MotionPlus and Metroid: Other M playable on show floor

Nintendo will kick off this year’s gamescom trade fair in Cologne on 18th August with a mixture of traditional classics and innovative games. Offering something for everyone, Nintendo’s booth at gamescom will be dedicated to games that will certainly cater for all tastes. From legendary franchises like Mario and Zelda to the exciting and innovative Wii Party, Nintendo offers a range of titles to get family and friends playing together all over the globe.

Charles Martinet – the voice of Nintendo’s plucky plumber, Mario, and many other Nintendo characters for more than 20 years, will be present at the show, where guests can play all of the Mario games that have ever appeared for Wii and Nintendo DS, including the latest cosmic funfest Super Mario Galaxy 2. Visitors to the Nintendo stand will not only be able to get their hands on an exciting range of upcoming game titles – including The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword, Metroid: Other M, Donkey Kong CountryTM Returns, Wii Party and many others – but popular TV celebrity Tim Feldner will be on hand to provide fun and excitement.

This information comes from The 3rd Birthday Director Hajime Tabata…

“KH Re:Coded is quite an amazing achievement. It’s developing into a very enjoyable game. The graphics and action are the highest level of DS. The gameplay is full of ideas and service. It’s a game that will give you the pure feeling of ‘Ah, this is fun.’ It fully realizes its concept. This is just the impression of someone watching the development from nearby, but I believe it’s a game that you can really look forward to.”

One of the things I find interesting about Re:coded is how it mixes three different games together. It features Birth by Sleep’s battle system, 358/2 Days’ growth system, and Coded’s fundamentals/story. That sounds like a fun game to me!
