This information comes from GameFly editorial director Garnett Lee, who was speaking about Capcom outsourcing existing franchises to western developers on the latest Weekend Confirmed podcast…

“Boy, their E3 bombshell puts that to test. I’m not going to spill it because I don’t want to make anyone mad, but boy their E3 bombshell puts that to test.”

There are definitely several possibilities this game could be about. I just hope it ends up on a Nintendo platform!

NEW YORK–(BUSINESS WIRE)– The American Heart Association and Nintendo of America today announced a first-of-its-kind, multifaceted strategic relationship aimed at helping people create healthy lifestyles through physically active play. The two organizations will work together on multiple fronts to help consumers discover how active-play video games contribute to healthy living. Their joint efforts will arm consumers with information, provide people with hands-on experiences and arrange a summit of representatives from different backgrounds to discuss the benefits of active-play video games.

“Our two organizations come from different worlds, but we share a common goal,” said Clyde Yancy, M.D., president of the American Heart Association. “Showing people accessible ways to stay active has been a part of our mission for decades, but our research tells us nearly 70 percent of Americans are getting no regular physical activity. As an organization we are looking for ways to change this. Nintendo has demonstrated clear leadership in active-play video games with the popularity of the Wii system, and I’m confident that together we can encourage Americans to become more physically active.”

So…We now know the official date, time, and location of the conference. Like last year, it will be held at the NOKIA Theatre. The only surprising piece of news here is that the event will be two hours long. It’s only been a one hour conference for just about as long as I can remember. Either Nintendo has a bunch of content to share, or they’ll be showing off a lot of graphs!

This comes from the same German Miyamoto interview from our last post. Again, this is somewhat of a rough translation…

Miyamoto on how many ideas not realized in Galaxy 1 were realized in Galaxy 2…

“We have developed two Super Mario Galaxy games for Wii, though we rarely produce two episodes of a series for the same console. Nevertheless, Super Mario Galaxy 2 was developed for Wii. The Galaxy series works with 3D animation, which offers many new game options and makes the game more user friendly. Since not all ideas could be realized after Super Mario Galaxy 1, version 1.5 was produced. But we added so many ideas that it was better to have a completely new version to develop. The result was Super Mario Galaxy 2.”

Miyamoto on whether the awards he has received puts pressure on him…

“The many awards given to me give me the feeling that I am older. Of course, an award comes with some pressure connected to be allowed to make mistakes, because I want to be a role model be for the next generation.”
