Did you watch the European launch trailer for Professor Layton and the Spectre’s Call? If not, you probably missed out on a teaser included at the end of the video (see above).
We only know of one 3DS Professor Layton game that hasn’t been localized. Of course, that title is Professor Layton and the Mask or Miracle, which launched earlier this year in Japan. Therefore the teaser all but confirms that the game will be brought to Europe sometime in 2012.

Nintendo has confirmed rumors that Fortune Street will be titled “Boom Street” in Europe. Additionally, NoE announced that the game is due out on January 6, 2012.
The complete announcement can be found below.
15th November 2011 – Be the financial master of your friends and family when the family-friendly interactive board game Boom Street comes to Wii on 6th January. Boom Street asks you to navigate one of several different themed boards, purchasing property as you go while charging opponents for landing on them.
The aim of Boom Street is to get rich quicker than your opponents through a mixture of property acquisition and property investment. Challenge up to three friends at home using one Wii Remote or play against people from across the world online to see who can increase their net worth the quickest. You can even utilise an in-game stock market element to purchase shares and earn dividends for extra wealth.
Nintendo responds to PETA’s Tanooki campaign

Yesterday, PETA announced that the organization began a new campaign to “raise awareness” about the Tanooki Suit that is the focal point of Super Mario 3D Land. They claimed that “Mario is sending the message that it’s OK to wear fur.”
What does Nintendo have to say about the situation?
A spokesperson told Eurogamer:
“Mario often takes the appearance of certain animals and objects in his games. These have included a frog, a penguin, a balloon and even a metallic version of himself. These lighthearted and whimsical transformations give Mario different abilities and make his games fun to play. The different forms that Mario takes make no statement beyond the games themselves.”
Honestly, this campaign is incredibly ridiculous. I’m not saying this as a Nintendo fan. Rather, this is how I feel coming from the perspective of someone thinking logically. I truly feel as though PETA is reading into what is an innocuous, enjoyable element of a Mario game. If the organization wanted people to be informed about raccoon dogs and the dangers they face, I really feel as though they could have (and should have) gone about this in a different way.
