Rumor: DS 2 dev kits sent out by Nintendo, may launch this year
Posted on 14 years ago by Brian(@NE_Brian) in DS, Rumors | 19 Comments
There have been a bunch of rumors lately surrounding new Nintendo hardware over the past few weeks. One employee from a major publisher even went as far as to say that Nintendo might unveil a new platform at the Game Developer’s Conference, which will be taking place in just a few weeks.
Now rumor has it that Nintendo has started sending development kits for their next DS system. These kits have, apparently, been received by numerous studios already. Additionally, if further speculation is to be believed, the company may start selling the hardware before the end of 2010. Nintendo declined to comment about the latest batch of rumors, but perhaps the DS 2 will be officially announced at GDC or E3 if the company intends to release the system this year.
Nintendo won’t transfer DSi data to DSi XL

“Thank you for your further email. At this stage, no details about a possible transfer of the acquired Nintendo DSiWare known. Should this be possible in exceptional cases, would be sending both devices are required. Please contact for further questions do so again on its release of the Nintendo DSi XL to our customer service.” – Nintendo customer service response
This news isn’t surprising, as Nintendo of Australia took a similar stance last year for consumers who wished to transfer their data to a different colored DSi. It’s definitely a shame that there isn’t a convenient way to transfer downloads from one system to another. I wonder if it will be possible to move WiiWare/VC titles to the Wii’s successor when it launches…
Thanks to Johannes for the news tip!
THQ, SyFy creating de Blob cartoon

It looks like THQ has some pretty ambitious plans for the de Blob. As we learned a few days ago, the company will be launching a new game in fiscal 2011. But THQ will also be working with SyFy to expand the franchise and produce a cartoon, which will be featured on television and online. THQ has said that they may be open to TV adaptations of their other intellectual properties as well.

Avanquest Software Publishing, a leading consumer software and games publisher, is soon to release Water Sports for the Nintendo Wii. Gamers can jump on their Wii Balance Boards and experience the unique feeling of kite surfing, wake boarding, windsurfing and water craft racing as they take to the waves in exotic locations around the world.

Nintendo Download: New Game Downloads for Wii and Nintendo DSi Pack a Presidential Punch

In honor of Presidents Day, let’s take a moment to reflect on the qualities that make a great leader, plus some exceptional games you can use to nurture them. Problem-solving skills are a must, both in the Oval Office and in the new Phoenix Wright™ Ace Attorney: JUSTICE FOR ALL game for the WiiWare service. A way with words is essential, too, as you’ll discover in Scrabble™ Classic for the Nintendo DSiWare service. Real Soccer 2010 proves the value of teamwork, while Spotto! ™ highlights the importance of facing fearsome threats head-on. And while we’re not sure how effective a hedgehog would be as commander-in-chief, the SEGA classic Sonic & Knuckles™ – now available to Wii™ owners via the Virtual Console™ – demonstrates real bipartisan appeal.
