Rumors

We now have a follow-up report on Nintendo’s rumored September 13 event. Inside Games is adding to the speculation, claiming that their sources say that an extremely big title will be announced next month. They aren’t sure if the reveal will be taking place on September 13, however, nor do they know if that’s when the rumored 3DS conference will take place. It does seem that the event will be taking place sometime in September though.

Could Nintendo be planning a fall-like conference for the 3DS? Well, we aren’t entirely sure that it’s a conference, though investors are under the impression that an important event will be held on September 13.

This rumored event has actually caused a boost in Nintendo stock today, which, at one point, rose to 9.7% above yesterday’s level.

Nintendo held a “Fall Conference” in late September of last year. While the 3DS was a huge focus, the company also took time to talk briefly about Wii – and confirmed Wii Remote Plus. New games were also announced after the show ended.

01Net has published a couple of new rumors about the 3DS. As we saw with Wii U, they have been spot on with some of their speculation, but inaccurate in some instances. With that said, don’t put too much stock into these rumors just yet.

The first rumor 01Net has shared is that the Nintendo is preparing a 3DS attachment that would act as a right analog stick. Shigeru Miyamoto has previously said that the company intentionally left out the additional circle pad because they felt that players use their fingers to play, and that would essentially replicate the same experience.

Here’s the relevant excerpt from the 01Net article:

According to online retailer “Fnac”, Europe will soon see the addition of new “Nintendo Selects” titles. However, it’s not what most would probably expect. Rather than Nintendo titles, it seems that Ubisoft releases will be joining the budget line.

If Fnac is correct, the following games will join “Nintendo Selects” on September 15:

Rayman Raving Rabbids
Rayman Raving Rabbids 2
Rayman TV Party
Rabbids: Mi Caaaasa!
Red Steel
Shaun White Snowboarding
Mi Fitness Coach

We’ll let you know if/when Nintendo confirms this rumor.

Hideo Kojima posted the following image on his Twitter account just a short while ago:

The important part of this photo is the Z.O.E. 3DS (okay, it’s really a backward Z, but I don’t know how to make that character on the computer.) Could Kojima really be bringing a Z.O.E. title to Nintendo’s handheld?

Super Mario 3D Land will be arrive on November 13 and Mario Kart 7 will launch on December 4, if MTV Multiplayer is to be believed. Nintendo has previously announced the release months for both titles, but have yet to provide a specific date. We’ll let you know if Nintendo confirms these dates.

Kotaku is reporting that four more titles will soon be joining the “Nintendo Selects” budget line. The site, citing “retail sources”, claims that Super Paper Mario, Mario Strikers Charged, Punch-Out!! and Super Mario Galaxy will be added to the program later this month. Assuming this is true, the titles will see a new price of $19.99.

For NES, they’ve confirmed Super Mario Bros., Donkey Kong Jr., Balloon Fight, Ice Climber and The Legend of Zelda. More details regarding Activision’s plans for Modern Warfare 3 on Nintendo platforms are continuing to trickle out. First, some details about the Wii version…

– Looking to launch the game on the same day as other version
– Not completely confirmed that it’ll arrive on November 8 it is a different platform with different capabilities; still some work to do
– Much of Modern Warfare 3 will fit into the Wii
– May have some differences
– Multiplayer will (obviously) be in the game

Now, here’s something that’s interesting. n-Space is supposedly working on a DS edition of Modern Warfare 3. Yes, DS, not 3DS. It’s a good thing we’ll be seeing Modern Warfare 3 on a Nintendo portable at all, since there were previous reports that n-Space would be taking a break this year.

On Thursday, Nintendo revealed that 3DS owners who connect their system to the eShop by11:59 p.m EDT on Aug. 11 will be eligible to receive ten free NES games and ten free GBA games. So far, they’ve only confirmed that Yoshi’s Island: Super Mario Advance 3, Mario Kart: Super Circuit, Metroid Fusion, WarioWare, Inc.: Mega Microgame$ and Mario vs. Donkey Kong will be available as part of the GBA downloads.

Has Nintendo of America outed a couple of additional titles? Here’s an email sent out by a customer service representative:

I have a feeling that the Super Mario Bros. 3 listing is just an error since that was probably mixed up with Yoshi’s Island: Super Mario Advance 3. However, I’m not quite sure where that Kirby inclusion comes from. It’s also strange to see that Mario vs. Donkey Kong isn’t listed…
