Site updates

Hey guys. Wanted to give you all a quick update about the GoldenEye 007 contest, since quite a few have been asking me about it! Of course, Game Night is finished, and we’ve chosen the random comment winner as well. So, that only leaves us with one more thing – The features submissions. Austin and I are currently looking all of them (we’re very impressed, I might add!), and I’m hoping that I’ll be able to make an announcement about all of the winners either tomorrow night or Wednesday. Also worth noting, we’ll be posting our Okamiden interview sometime over the next few days. Thanks for your patience!

Tonight is your last chance to enter the contest! Make sure you post a comment or send a feature our way!

BLAM. Get shot.

I think I’d be hard pressed to find someone on this site who didn’t have at least a passing interest in the upcoming Wii-exclusive game GoldenEye 007, which is why I’m so very pleased to announce that we have an extraordinary opportunity in our hands right now. Activision (the game’s publisher) was nice enough to send us guys at NE three copies of the upcoming first person shooter, but instead of keeping them for ourselves (like we’d do if we were smart >:D), we’re giving away all three copies to three lucky winners here on the site!

Hit up the break for the nitty-gritty details on what you can do to snag yourself a free copy (shipping and handling fully paid!) of this massive re-make!

Going to keep this on the front page until Sunday morning. Once again, I’m very, very appreciative of all the warm feedback! Make sure to check out Patrick’s 3DS Virtual Console article below this post, and feel free to comment on this one if you have a question about Okamiden/Epic Mickey!

Just a quick note before I mention our site’s anniversary: We’re preparing two interviews which we’ll post on the site within the next few weeks. One is for Okamiden, and the other is for Epic Mickey. Oddly enough, both games are two of my most anticipated titles at the moment! In any case, if you have any questions about either game, let us know via the comments section below and we’ll try to relay them to our interviewees.

Moving on – yes, it’s true… It’s been three years to the date since Nintendo Everything opened its doors. Surprised? Yeah, it kind of caught me off guard as well. It’s remarkable how fast three years can go by!

Like I was telling Austin yesterday, it truly amazes me that the site has been around for so long. Unfortunately for us, NE was established long after the blog explosion, and once most of the popular gaming/Nintendo publications started. We essentially started from nothing, and scratched and clawed our way to become somewhat relevant. But I’m thrilled with the position we’re at today, and I have a feeling we’re only going to get stronger from here on out. It seems as though many sites tend not to make it past their first year, so I’m definitely pleased that we’ve made it this far.

With that said, things from here on out won’t be easy. I’m in a bit of a difficult position; Blogging on Nintendo Everything and Gaming Everything – believe it or not – isn’t my day job. I’m usually out an about – I have many, many responsibilities and things to do outside of working on the two sites. So, usually that means I’m stressed out of my mind every day, looking for a way to find more time, and trying to balance everything at once.

Still, like I said last year, I don’t plan on closing NE down anytime soon. And one of the main reasons for that is because of how important you guys are to the site. Really, without your interest in what we do, we’d be nothing! That’s why I absolutely love it when I see you guys comment – It lets me know that there are people out there reading our posts! I truly hope you all know how important you are to me, as well as the rest of the staff. Hopefully I’ll continue to see our regular commentators on the site, as well as some news faces. Here’s to another three years of Nintendo Everything!

Update: Game Night is now over!

Hey guys – Just a quick update from me. Following a one week hiatus, Game Night is on track for tomorrow. As usual, I’ll make a post with the IRC at about 7:00 PM EDT, and we’ll probably start the event at 7:15. Let me know if you have any specific game requests, though I have a feeling that we’ll end up playing Mario Kart Wii or The Conduit. Although, you never know… Perhaps we’ll do a few round of Excitebots!

Oh, and one other thing before I forgot – I was thinking that perhaps we’ll do a DS Game Night soon. If we do one of those, which games do you guys have, and which ones would you be interested in playing?

Update: Game Night is now over.

Game night! We’re playing The Conduit, so gear up and hop in the IRC! Should be a fun time!

We were left in the dark about Nintendo’s impending conference for quite some time, but a few details have finally been released. According to Nikkei, the Big N will start the event at 1 AM EDT/10 PM PST. We also know that Capcom will have official news about two game announcements at 2 AM EDT (okay, it hasn’t been confirmed to be Nintendo-related, but what else could it be?!). One other thing – From what I can gather, this is not necessarily a 3DS-only conference, so we may very well hear about some Wii titles.

Just so you know, I’ll be covering the conference in any capacity I can. This includes posting updates on the site as soon as any information becomes available, as well as hosting any screenshots/trailers I come across. I’ll probably regret staying up so late in the morning, but Nintendo conferences don’t happen too often – might as well soak in all the news!

Update: Game Night is now over!

Just a forewarning for those of you who are interested: Game night will be happening at the regular time (6PM CST, 7PM EST, 4PM PST) tomorrow (which is technically today, if you’re where I am), so power up those Wiis and get ready for some remarkably entertaining gaming!

I haven’t decided what to play just yet. Any suggestions?

~Austin
