New Nintendo Direct also showcases range of Wii U games coming this spring and summer

17th May 2013 – The next game in SEGA’s Sonic the Hedgehog series will be exclusive to Wii U and Nintendo 3DS, with Nintendo President Satoru Iwata announcing details of a worldwide partnership with SEGA during a new Nintendo Direct video announcement today. Sonic Lost World is a new action-adventure platforming game, and more information about it will be announced before the E3 2013 video game trade show begins on 11th June.

The Nintendo Direct also announced a new addition to the Mario & Sonic series, the first appearance for the series on Wii U, as well as revealing launch dates for Pikmin 3, The Wonderful 101 and New Super Luigi U.


The next Sonic game is coming to Nintendo platforms. Announced during today’s Nintendo Direct, Sonic Lost Worlds is coming to both Wii U and 3DS. More information about the action platforming title will be shared in the future.



North American presentation is 29 minutes long. Japanese presentation is 39 minutes long. Will begin at 10 AM ET / 7 AM PT.


Atlus is collaborating with Madhouse (Summer Wars, Millennium Actress, and Paprika) for Etrian Odyssey: Millennium Girl’s animated cut-scenes. Illustrator and artist Yuji Himukai is on board as a supervisor.

Donkey Kong Country Returns 3D is very comparable to the original Wii game. However, the 3DS version does pack in 3D visuals, an easier mode, and one brand new world.

The Little Battlers W Super Custom will be missing its June 27 release date in Europe. While not a massive delay, Level-5 has announced that its 3DS game will now launch in Japan on July 18. The extra time will be used to further improve The Little Battlers W’s quality.
