Starting Nov. 23, the Nintendo Holiday Mall Experience will touch down in 35 shopping malls from coast to coast, offering free hands-on demos of some of Nintendo’s hottest games. Whether they’re seeking gifts for friends and family members or simply taking a break from the season’s hustle and bustle, attendees can enjoy an interactive glimpse into the rich variety of entertainment offered by Nintendo.

Using the Wii console’s popular motion controls, Nintendo Holiday Mall Experience participants can play activities like archery and basketball in Wii Sports Resort™, explore the four-person multiplayer excitement of New Super Mario Bros. ™ Wii, step onto the Wii Balance Board™ accessory to experience new activities and enhanced features in the fitness-themed Wii Fit™ Plus, and more. They can also pick up a Nintendo DSi system to sample hand-held games such as Style Savvy, which lets players manage their own virtual boutique, the puzzle-based Professor Layton and the Diabolical Box™ and the highly anticipated The Legend of Zelda™: Spirit Tracks after its launch on Dec. 7.


Remember, this is essentially EA’s take on a Zelda game. It’ll be releasing in Japan on February 25, 2010.

Last week, Famitsu published an article on their website, which stated that a new Lufia game is in development. The only question was, which platform is the game being created for? Fortunately, Famitsu shared that information today. In the latest edition of their magazine, it was announced that the game will be heading to the DS. We’re waiting for some concrete gameplay details at the moment, but we’ll add them to this post very soon. In the meantime, you can check out the first scans of the title above

“Let’s talk about the U.S., and let’s break it down into the separate platforms. So, speaking first about the Wii–what’s important to understand is that in 2008, we sold 10 million units of the Wii, which was a record for any console ever in history. And so it’s a high mark.

What’s also important to understand is that the pacing of our software this year was quite different than it was in 2008. In 2008, our big titles were released early in the year. And this year’s huge title, released a few weeks ago in October, Wii Fit Plus, is doing quite well. And then arguably, the largest title of the year, New Super Mario Bros. for the Wii, only releases Sunday [November 15]. So we believe that going into the holiday season, consumers will continue to look for the products they see as representing the best value and the most fun…”
