Jewel Quest Solitaire features two types of gameplay including Just Cards Mode, for playing classic solitaire; and Full Quest Mode, which allows players to follow the mysterious storyline and access special jewel boards. With 684 different scenarios, Jewel Quest Solitaire provides hours of fun for puzzle fans.

Nintendo DSi launch sales in the UK were revealed earlier this week. Now, more generally, Satoru Iwata has provided further insight in terms of how the system performed. According to Iwata, who was speaking at the Foreign Correspondents’ Club of Japan, the DSi sold 300,000 units in both the US and Europe over launch weekend.

Meanwhile, Shigeru Miyamoto was also at the event and highlighted plans to make the DS and DSi into something that can be used for more than just gaming – tests in schools, maps, tour guidance, coupons, and more.

Suguroku

We’ve all heard stories of patients in hospitals playing their DS’ and using their Wiis for fitness and health, but now, Nintendo’s handheld will be taking an extra step in helping the medical profession get things done. A new software being developed by Community Engine will soon be implemented to help doctors and nurses monitor their patient’s health without the hassle of dragging around a clipboard. “Suguroku DS” can be used to record important medical data such as temperature, blood pressure, and various other vitals that could be key in saving a life; or curing a child’s stuffy nose. This data can then be transferred directly to a computer where it can be further distributed.

“Suguroku DS” is scheduled to go on sale in Japan in June of 2009, and will sell for a price of 40,000 yen, or $400 USD.

“We are looking carefully at the DS, and certainly aren’t ruling out developing for it in the future. However, for right now, our focus is on Rock Band Unplugged as a PSP title.” – Greg LoPiccolo, VP of product development at Harmonix

Guitar Hero has dominated the DS and has been met with a great response from consumers. It would seem almost natural that Rock Band would follow a similar path if the franchise were to migrate to the handheld.
