DSi/DSi XL price drop/3DS

– Price drop
– Not too big of a deal
– Commenters were wondering why Nintendo is trying to move DSi systems off the shelves
– Still pretty high at $149.99 for the DSi, $169.99 for the XL
– In 2004, the DS debuted at $149.99
– Sam thinks the price drop is because Nintendo didn’t sell as many DS units as they usually do last month
– Jack would have been more inclined to think the 3DS would be coming out soon if Nintendo brought updated software to GamesCom; mostly everything was unplayable at E3; Jack says even easy things like Ocarina of Time 3D and Star Fox 64 3D weren’t playable
– Scott’s crazy theory: If Nintendo were to announce a deal with Netflix or a 3D movie company, they’ll push the system out early just to have as a movie-watching system

BURBANK, Calif. — (August 30, 2010) – Disney Interactive Studios today announced a collector’s edition of TRON: Evolution will be available at retail. The TRON: Evolution collector’s edition package will include an exclusive TRON light cycle collectible based on the in-game model from TRON: Evolution. The light cycle model is being created by renowned collectibles manufacturer Sideshow Collectibles. Available for the Xbox 360® video game and entertainment system from Microsoft and PlayStation®3 computer entertainment system, the collector’s edition will be packaged in a special protective casing with a drawer for the game.

The company also announced December 7 as the North American release date for all its TRON: Evolution video games on popular platforms. TRON: Evolution games will be available for Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 system, Wii™, Windows PC, Nintendo DS™ and PSP® (PlayStation®Portable) system. The Wii game’s title is TRON: Evolution – Battle Grids.

– The plasma tubes give energy, makes energy to the specimen
– Special characteristics for enemies: Speed, endurance, range
– Eight weapons
– Weapons can be upgraded
– 40 levels
– Energy allows weapons to be acquired and upgraded
– Regenerate energy fragments to upgrade traps
– Unlock weapons as you progress into more rounds
– Use Wiimote to rotate the perspective of the level to access different tubes
– Multiple passageways that enemies can creep into
– 3 difficulty levels
– Multiple profiles
– Adventure Mode: 5 different worlds, multiple rounds of enemies
– Survival Mode: Similar to an Endless Mode, rounds get tougher as time goes on
– Soundtrack by El Topo Negro (did the music in Dive: The Medes Islands Secret)
