Walmart to have midnight launch for Wii U, receiving stock starting on Nov. 14

A few stores will be hosting midnight launches for the Wii U next month (yes, it really is just a month away!). That includes Walmart, which is confirmed by a new internal sheet from the retailer. You should be able to grab the console at 12:00 AM as long as you have a pre-order.
The same sheet also points out that Wii U stock should arrive well before the Wii U’s launch in most cases. This is something that you’d expect, but outlets could begin to receive systems as early as November 14, and no later than November 16. Sorry though – that doesn’t mean you can get the Wii U early!

Injustice: Gods Among Us on Wii U will be like the other versions
Posted on 12 years ago by Brian(@NE_Brian) in News, Wii U | 0 comments
NetherRealm Studios and Warner Bros. have been strangely quiet when it comes to the Wii U version of Injustice: Gods Among Us. Despite the silence, there’s no reason to be concerned.
Just like the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 editions, the Wii U version is being handled in-house – at NetherRealm – and should be ready to go in April.
There will be lots of GamePad usage, but there won’t be any major additions/changes compared to the other versions.
NetherRealm producer Hector Sanchez told Joystiq:
“We plan on Wii U to come out at the same time as Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 versions, so we don’t have as much of an enhancement.”
To sum up: the Wii U version isn’t being handled by another studio. It’s coming out on time for the regular launch. And it’ll be just like the PlayStation 3/Xbox 360 game.
Wii U Pro Controller charge lasts 80 hours

You won’t have to worry about the Wii U Pro Controller’s battery. A single charge will last over three days, according to a GameStop listing.
The retailer says that the controller includes “a rechargeable battery that can last up to 80 hours on a single charge.”
Now I’m curious to see how long the GamePad battery goes for. I can’t imagine that lasting 80 hours as well…
Thanks to Jake for the tip.
New Scribblenauts Unlimited trailer Wednesday, characters teased
Posted on 12 years ago by Brian(@NE_Brian) in News, Wii U | 0 comments
GameStop shared a new image for Scribblenauts Unlimited today teasing an upcoming trailer with special characters. It’ll be pretty big.
There’s some speculation that the video could feature Nintendo characters. Epona could be on the left, and Princess Peach – based on the crown-shaped silhouette – could be on the right.
Again, that’s all speculation at this point. I do admit that seeing some Nintendo characters in the game would be really neat!
Uh-Oh: Epic Mickey 2 (Wii U version) might not make the Wii U launch!

“The reason why we’re not committed to a date on the Wii U version is that no one has been through Nintendo’s approval process on the Wii U. We have no idea how long it will take for the game to go through approval. Disney is not going to be the reason why it will miss [November 18].” – Warren Spector
Well, if Nintendo is listing it as a launch title and the only thing left is Nintendo approving the game… I’d say this is pretty much a shoe-in for launch! Why would Nintendo list it as launch and then choose not to approve it in time for the system!?
