Thanks to Jake for the news tip!

When Nintendo demoed the premiere gameplay of New Super Mario Bros. Wii at E3, there were four different characters used. Mario, Luigi, and two toads were available. However, some will be disappointed in knowing that there will not be any additional characters when the game ships this holiday. Shigeru Miyamoto provided Nintendo Power with a simple “that’s it” response when asked if more characters were present. Although that is unfortunate, perhaps the Koopa Kids will make up for the news. According to Miyamoto, “they’re supposed to all be in there.”
