No Tekken 6 for Wii

“No, it will not [release on Wii]. The hardware of the Nintendo is less than that of the other next-gen game consoles and the gameplay is very different.” – Katsuhiro Harada, producer of Tekken 6
Mr. Harada’s statement about the Wii hardware is true, but I don’t see any reason why the gameplay wouldn’t work on Wii. On the other hand, we have seen some disappointing results when developers have attempted to port over a 360/PS3 title for Nintendo’s console. What do you guys think?

WiiTM and Nintendo DSTM Versions of Timeless Puzzle Game Expected Next Spring
EDISON, N.J., August 20, 2009 – The perfect puzzle game returns with new challenges as Majesco Entertainment Company (NASDAQ: COOL), an innovative provider of video games for the mass market, and Tetris Online, Inc., today announced a strategic partnership to support the North American launch and distribution of two exciting new TETRIS® games for Wii™ and Nintendo DS™. Both games are expected to launch in spring 2010.
“Majesco was a natural choice to help us bring the latest evolution of the TETRIS franchise to market,” said Minoru Arakawa, president and CEO, Tetris Online. “Their distribution strength and expertise in the mass market will help ensure that our upcoming Wii and Nintendo DS games reach as many fans as possible.”
– “deep discussions with Nintendo” for trying to skip friend codes. They want to seamlessly include circuit sharing because D/L is almost instant, and anyone should try other’s creations, so they don’t want any barriers. They’ll probably use SD storage as well.
– they want as many online players as possible. Starting with 8, but aiming at 16, more or less.
– 200 tracks included are made with in-game Wii editor, exactly like PC one.
– All Mario Kart control configs + NES-like, using D pad.
– gamescom build is from last Friday (14th). It’s smooth and fast, and already has loads of tracks. Q1 2010 is still the date and keeping 60 fps, the goal.
– snow, coast, rally, stadium, iron and island environments will be there.
– not on PS360 because not being realistic simulator could be underrated. Also because of Wii audience, controls and input for editor
– single / track editor / multiplayer menu and the shop. Race, platform and puzzle are back for single player, aside from “my tracks”.

WiiSpeak support not ruled out from North America Monster Hunter 3 release

“We love the idea of voice chat (Wii Speak) and we know that it is a minimum for western players.” – Monster Hunter 3 Tri producer Tsujimoto Ryozo
I’d really love to see WiiSpeak support in the North American version of Monster Hunter 3. Obviously, the peripheral can make communicating with friends much easier. Besides, developers should begin to include the option to use WiiSpeak more often, especially when it can greatly enhance gameplay.
Thanks to Captain N for the news tip!
