Zoink Games announces Wiiwaa

We’ve covered Wiiwaa on the site previously, but here’s the official announcement…
Introducing WIIWAA, the Wii plush puppet game!
Gothenburg, 18th November 2009. Independent game development studio ZOINK GAMES AB have released a video revealing the concept behind their upcoming Wii game.
“Wiiwaa” is the working title for a new video game for the Nintendo Wii home entertainment system under development at Zoink Games. The idea for this game is as stunning as it is unique: the game ships with a special plush toy puppet that has a slot into which the Wii’s motion sensitive controller can be inserted. The game is then played simply by moving the puppet. Movements the player applies to the puppet are reflected by the character in the game.
In the game, the player takes care of a cute little Wiiwaa creature as he explores a lush game universe, plays various minigames and unravels a fantastic adventure story.
Rumor: Warner Bros. leaked plans, reveals Scribblenauts 2 and Batman title

While this should most definitely be considered a rumor for now, Warner Bros. may have made a big mistake. If the latest speculation is to be believed, however, the company has leaked some of their 2010 plans. Scribblenauts 2 (Wii/DS), Batman: The Brave and the Bold (Wii/DS), Touchmaster 4 (DS), and Game Party 4 (Wii) are just a few of the titles that have popped up on a list. None of this information is actually confirmed at this time, but if this is true, Warner Bros. will have a number of big releases next year.

Aonuma says Zelda Wii to have different structure, hopes to surprise fans, may be at E3 2010

“It is something we used to talk about with Mr Miyamoto, and he and I agree that if we are following the same structure again and again, we might not be able to give long time Zelda fans a fresh surprise. So we have been trying something new in terms of the structure of the Wii version of the new Zelda game this time. I am really hopeful that people will be surprised with the changes we have implemented for this Wii version. I hope that we can show you something at the E3 show next year and it is something we are hopeful will be surprising.” – Zelda producer Eiji Aonuma
Well, this news may be just what the doctor ordered! I feel like many Zelda fans aren’t satisfied how the series never really changes, but Zelda Wii looks like it’ll be mixing things up a bit. I really can’t wait to see what the game looks like now!
