Not too long ago, Chromatic Games set up a Kickstarter to help fund Dungeon Defenders: Awakened. Despite the hefty goal of $250,000, that target has already been reached with over two weeks remaining in the campaign. A Switch release has also been secured.

Dungeon Defenders: Awakened is a cooperative, tower defense action RPG. Chromatic Games is looking to return to the original game’s roots while also setting the plot after Dungeon Defenders II.

Here’s some additional information and a trailer:

Dungeon Defenders: Awakened is a brand-new, cooperative, tower defense action RPG that recaptures the soul of the original Dungeon Defenders.

Here at Chromatic Games, we all agree – let’s go back to the roots of what made the original Dungeon Defenders so amazing!

We’re taking the core gameplay of the original Dungeon Defenders, its amazing content, its physics-bending charm, and we’re mixing all of them together in a brand-new game set after the events of Dungeon Defenders II.

Travel back in time to when and where it all began: with the four young heroes banding together in their parents’ castle – only this time, they face a time-altering menace who could reshape the past, present, and future of Dungeon Defenders.

With upgraded visuals, updated mechanics, and locations both new and old, this is the awakening of the franchise we feel it deserves.
