EA’s Vince Zampella says Nintendo is a “great partner”, up for Battlefield on Switch 2
Vince Zampella, the head of Respawn and head of EA Studios, recently commented on the company’s feelings when it comes to Nintendo and the possibility of bringing Battlefield to Switch 2.
Zampella was speaking in an interview with IGN when he called Nintendo a “great partner”. And while there isn’t much to say about Switch 2 since the since has yet to be unveiled, it sounds like EA would be open to bringing Battlefield to the new console.
Zampella said the following in that interview:
“I mean, since [Switch 2] isn’t announced and it doesn’t exist, I can’t really comment on that. But I would say absolutely, Nintendo, along with Microsoft and Sony are great partners for us, are important to us on our business at EA, at Respawn, would love to see it. We don’t have anything to announce, but is there a world? Sure. We love them as partners. They’ve been great to us. I love the [Switch].”
EA could choose to support the new system after seeing how successful the current Switch is. The publisher is also making some interesting moves, including putting in some notable effort into EA Sports FC 24 on Nintendo’s platform last year to support the Frostbite engine and just now releasing MySims Cozy Bundle this November. Battlefield on Switch 2 would be significant as the franchise never appeared on a Nintendo platform before.
