Epic Mickey: Rebrushed initial digital sales “slower than expected”
THQ Nordic recently shared an update on sales of Epic Mickey: Rebrushed, which seem to be off to a slow start.
The company provided a small note about the game’s performance in its latest financial report. THQ Nordic simply said the following: “Disney Epic Mickey: Rebrushed, late in the quarter, was well received by players but initial digital sales were slower than expected.” No specific figures were given.
Epic Mickey: Rebrushed, a remake of the Wii original, came to Nintendo Switch at the end of September. Given the lack of actual sales figures, it’s tough to really put THQ Nordic’s statement in perspective. However, we do have some other information to go off of.
In our weekly Nintendo Switch eShop charts, the game never appeared higher than #9 in the United States. On the overall UK software sales chart for all platforms, it did come in at #4.
Something that could help in the long run are discounts. Right now the title is actually on sale for $41.99 on the eShop. Additionally, retailers like Best Buy and GameStop are currently selling it for $40 physically.
We were quite positive on Epic Mickey: Rebrushed in our review. In case you missed it, you can check that out here.
Thanks to THQ Nordic for the statement above.
