Falcom up for bringing more Kiseki games from The Legend of Heroes to Switch with outside help
The Legend of Heroes is starting to find a home on Switch through the Kiseki series. Trails of Cold Steel III just launched on Switch this summer, and Trails of Cold Steels IV is following in 2020. In an interview with Chinese outlet A9VG, Falcom president Toshihiro Kondo discussed the other possibilities of other entries appearing on the platform.
Kondo told the site, as translated by Nintendo Everything:
“In recent years many players have said that they want to see the Kiseki series on Nintendo Switch, but internally we don’t have the kind of resources to port / develop multiple titles. We would be more inclined to do this with another company.”
Kondo was also asked about the possibility of bringing The Legend of Heroes: Hajimari no Kiseki to platforms like Switch. Although it’s not ruled out, fans shouldn’t expect anything to happen just yet.
Kondo said:
“We have just finished developing Hajimari no Kiseki for PS4. We currently have no plans to release this on other platforms, but we’d like to in the future if we have a chance.”
It’s thanks to Nippon Ichi Software (with its western subsidiary NIS America) and Engine Software that The Legend of Heroes: Trails of Cold Steel games have started to appear on Switch. However, the first two games are not available on the system. As for future entries, any title NIS America is involved with for localization will likely be made available on Switch similar to Trails of Cold Steel III and IV.
