Helix Games talks Don’t Touch Anything Red, new game Altered, Wii U media player plans
Helix Games founder Bailey Earley spoke with Miiverse user Folkloner as part of a recent interview. Earley discussed the Wii U eShop title Don’t Touch Anything Red (which should hopefully be out next month and sooner in Europe), another new game for Wii U/3DS called “Altered”, and plans to bring out a media player for Nintendo’s console.
Check out Earley’s full responses below:
On Don’t Touch Anything Red…
“Don’t Touch Anything Red” is a fast-paced multiplayer autorunner, where you must test your reflexes by dodging anything red. Up to five players can play together – either working together in Co-Op or head-to-head in Versus.
“Don’t Touch Anything Red” drops (hopefully) next month in North America, and even sooner in Europe, for only $1.79.
On Helix’s real-time strategy prototype and new game “Altered”…
There isn’t much to show of that project since it’s so early in development, and it’s pretty far down the pipeline.
I’m not willing to share anything at this time, since it isn’t our key focus, and I don’t want to say anything when we might change our minds before release.
However, we have another upcoming project that we call “Altered” that I’m able to speak about a little more freely.
On whether Altered will be a Wii U release…
Yes, “Altered” will be on the Wii U, but we’re also targetting the 3DS and Steam.
“Altered” will be a 2D stealth/action game where you can control physics in order to infiltrate different organisations to steal data, which you can then sell for upgrades. There will be a Story Mode, Mercenary Mode, and a local Multiplayer Mode.
“Altered” will have a Kickstarter in the coming months, so look out!
On Wii U media player plans…
Well, I can’t speak too much about how it will work as even we don’t fully know what he Wii U can do, but it seems like you should be able stream content from your PC over LAN.
I can’t give a release estimate, but it will launch for under $5.
