[Let’s Talk] Pac-Man 99 impressions
Posted on April 10, 2021 by Brian(@NE_Brian) in Let's Talk, Switch eShop
Another classic game has received the battle royale treatment. Pac-Man 99 was only just announced this week, but a day after it’s reveal, the title was released for Switch. Nintendo Switch Online members can try out the title at no extra cost.
Like Tetris 99 and Super Mario Bros. 35, Pac-Man 99 puts a twist on the classic arcade formula that we’ve come to love. Players are tasked with being the last one standing as they gather Power Pellets, eat ghosts, and send Jammer Pac-Mans to make things more difficult for their opponents. We have all of the relevant details here.
With Pac-Man 99 having been out there for a few days, what are your impressions thus far? How do you feel it stacks up to the other Switch Online offerings? Let us know in the comments below.
Highlights from last week’s topic: What are you playing? – April 2021
Monster Hunter Rise !
Actually a lot of the quality of life updates kind of hampered my quality of enjoyement. I guess I did derive some pleasure from inventory management and monster tracking and observation, now it’s just go there and fight it and if you want to capture it there’s a convenient icon on the top right of the screen that shows up when it’s weak enough. Bleh.
However it’s so fun to zoom around on wirebugs and the village is so lively and charming that I’m still having a great time. I just wish they didn’t go even further with dumbing down the simulation aspects. My ideal MH game would have movement as fun as Rise and inventory as cumbersome as MH4U.
Eek still working on Xenoblade Chronicles 2. Nearing end of Ch 8 and I think I will make a b-line for the ending then go back and do stuff that I skipped (no shortage of that). The story in this game is so damn good. This has to go down as the most unexpectedly good game I’ve ever played.
