[Let’s Talk] Super Mario Bros. Wonder impressions

Posted on October 21, 2023 by (@NE_Brian) in Let's Talk, Switch

Super Mario Bros. Wonder is one of the biggest Switch games of 2023. With the title now officially launching worldwide, we’d like to hear about what your early thoughts are if you’ve started it up.

If you’ve been playing, what are your early thoughts? What do you think of the new features like the badge system? How do you feel it compares to other 2D Mario games? Let us know in the comments below.

Highlights from last week’s topic: Do you replay games?

EM

It really just depends on the games. I replay Chrono Trigger almost yearly. Tears of the Kingdom though? Probably not. I mean I’ll start it up occasionally just to explore and roam the land but to replay from the very beginning? No.

Lance Devon

All the time, one TV of mine has purely retro games hooked up for that sole reason.

It’s why, whenever possible, I prefer physical games for the systems I use.

Kyoko

Yes I do!

It all comes down to how much I like a game. I have no idea just how many times I’ve played Super Mario World, Majora’s Mask or Xenoblade Chronicles. I just love these games so much to the point is always fun to play them from beginning to end.

I’m actually tempted to play Super Mario Galaxy again before the new Mario games comes out.

There are some other games that I enjoyed, but I currently have no interest in play them again, like Mario Odissey or Monster Hunter Stories 2.

Vinicius

Not as much as want.

With a backlog that keeps growing, and free time that keeps shrinking, it gets harder and harder to do. Unless it’s something like Mega Man, I rarely replay games anymore.

JasonBall34

I replay OoT every year in the two weeks leading up to my birthday, timing it so I get to Ganon’s Castle and beat the game right on my birthday. Eight years now, I think. Other than that, only occasionally.

JakusanKun

I’ve replayed Three Houses the most out of any game. The New Game+ feature keeps me going back again and again.

César Tribst

It depends, games that are too long, like RPGs I only play once ( with a few exceptions). Short games specially from the SNES era I replay from time to time, like Super Mario World, Super Metroid, DKC, TMNT Turtles in Time. But sometimes I like to return to some games like Mario 64, Super Mario Galaxy 1 and 2…

Stephen Yap

I usually do when I feel like it, as well as the game being good in the end.

I’ve done at least 12 playthroughs for Paper Mario on N64 throughout my life.

theFooFighter

I have a backlog in the hundreds, I can’t justify replaying stuff unless it’s like a remake or remaster on a new platform
