[Let’s Talk] What are you playing? – June 2023
A new month started up this week. Now that we’re in June, we want to know what you’ve been playing.
Are you still pouring countless hours into The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom? Are you trying out some other recent releases like We Love Katamari Reroll + Royal Reverie, Etrian Odyssey Origins Collection, or LEGO 2K Drive? No matter the case, let us know in the comments below.
Highlights from last week’s topic: What’s left for Nintendo on Switch in 2023?

I think theres a good chance Metroid Prime 4 will get a release late this year as the final hurrah for the Switch, with new hardware announced around November for a March 2024 release.
I think we will get a few remakes and hd releases such as Windwaker hd and Twilight princess hd. I’m guessing they have been holding back releasing those games until TotK was released.

Pikmin is going to be lit but that’s probably going to be the last big release until we hear something about prime 4. I feel like we’re going to get a lot of ports and remasters, I mean we already have Kirby, prime 1, advance wars and baten kaitos. They should just port over all the stuff people have been begging for since 2017, TYD, kid Icarus, galaxy 2, ect

Nintendo will announce a few new games for Switch this year after Pikmin 4 – some candidates include Metroid Prime 4, a new Mario game, a new blue ocean game ala Ring Fit/Labo, a Pokemon spin-off (Detective Pikachu 2?), remaster of an older game, etc. None of these games outside of a new Mario game will be huge, but they will be enough to carry Nintendo’s H2 2023. I don’t believe they willl leave the rest of the year empty like some rumor-mongerers have suggested.
I expect absolutely no news about the Switch successor since I don’t believe it will launch until holiday 2024.

Unless Prime 4 gets a release date, not much else for me unless something gets announced that piques my interest. Until then, I’ll just stick to my backlog of games I’ve bought and not yet played.

Obviously we haven’t heard anything on Metroid Prime 4, but at this point I’d be more than happy for it to be released on Nintendo’s next-gen console.
As Nintendo have already stated, no chance a new hardware is releasing this year, but an announcement this year is possible. An announcement with MP4 and a new Mario/DK game as apart of their showcase would be great.
As for the Switch itself, after Pikmin 4, just indies, ports and remasters, hopefully MP2 & 3 and F-Zero GX. Fingers crossed for the MGS collection.
It would have been nice to see the NSO expand to GameCube and Wii games, but I don’t see that happening this late. If the plan is to continue the same service on their next-gen console, they really need to get onto it straight away and get all of their 1st party titles on there from the start.
