[Let’s Talk] Which Level-5 Nintendo Switch / Switch 2 game are you most looking forward to?

Posted on July 12, 2025 by (@NE_Brian) in Let's Talk, Switch, Switch 2

After a few rough years, Level-5 might finally be back on track. Fantasy Life i: The Girl Who Steals Time launched a couple of months ago and has been a smash hit.

At a few points, things felt a bit dire for Level-5. Inazuma Eleven: Victory Road went through multiple year-long delays and overall output slowed to a crawl. But now Fantasy Life i could just be the start of Level-5’s comeback tour. The company has a few games in the pipeline. Inazuma Eleven: Victory Road, Professor Layton and the New World of Steam, Decapolice, Inazuma Eleven Re, and Holy Horror Mansion are in development and are planned for Nintendo Switch / Switch 2. Some are closer than others, and while there have been plenty of concerns about Level-5, there are signs of life.

Out of Level-5’s upcoming slate, which game are you most looking forward to? Let us know in the comments.

Highlights from last week’s topic: What are you playing? – July 2025

Darksiders 3 runs pretty well on switch 2, I’m honestly surprised by how much I’m enjoying it. Aside from that I’m playing suikoden 1 while I wait for a copy of fantasy life to show up

Got a major backlog to go through these new consoles/game prices are just too much for me. Finished my PS3/4 over the winter/spring and now finishing up my DS/3DS. I just quickly beat Bye-Bye Box Boy over the holiday. I prefer the 2nd game as the 3rd has a decent amount of unskippable cutscenes which I just want to jump right back into puzzles. But that is my only minor complaint. The first is by far the hardest and my least favorite.

However, most of June was spent playing Pokémon Diamond & Platinum. Platinum is definitely the one to play. Overall have to say Gen IV was a major let down Heart Gold and Souls Silver aside. Have not played the Switch remastered yet but based on what I hear it isn’t much better.

Next will be New Super Mario Bros & Golden Sun: Dark Dawn. I am debating whether to pick up Pokémon Conquest and Mario & Luigi Partners in time. I have played the rest of the Mario & Luigi games (besides brotherhood) and the only one I really enjoyed was Bowsers inside Fury. The rest are okay to mediocre.

Huge backlog on my end, but for now…

-The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom (Continuing my first playthrough via the Nintendo Switch 2 Edition update)

-Xenoblade Chronicles X: Definitive Edition (Started on my Switch, but I will be continuing it on my Switch 2 once I make some TotK progress)

-Mario Kart World (Mainly for fun, but I also have some NPC racers I still have to unlock.)

-Death Stranding 2 (Playing on a buddy’s PS5. I’m having a good time so far. I did have a great time with the first game and I generally enjoy Hideo Kojima’s style, so yeah, I’m having fun. ^^)

-Gex Trilogy. (Playing this on my Nintendo Switch as a means of saving space on my Switch 2 until higher expanded storage is more available and affordable. And yes, both are hooked up to my television. lol)

-Donkey Kong Bananza (This will be my new primary focus once it releases in a week and two days. It’s not 3D Mario, but I have a similar excitement level to such and it is in the same universe anyway…plus, I’ve been waiting for a new 3D Donkey Kong)

I will eventually play Cyberpunk and Rune Factory: Guardians of Azuma (I got the Switch 2 version). I just have to get some of my other large time sink games over with, especially since they came first and I’ve been making progress bit by bit. I do look forward to the day I do play these games, though. 😀 ^__^
