[Let’s Talk] Will you be picking up Nintendo Clock: Alarmo?

Posted on October 12, 2024 by (@NE_Brian) in General Nintendo, Let's Talk

Leave it to Nintendo to throw out a curveball. Rather than unveiling its next console which is what many fans are anticipating, this week the company instead announced something that pretty much has nothing to do with gaming. Nintendo Clock: Alarmo was not only revealed, but given an initial, limited release as well.

Nintendo Clock: Alarmo is an interactive alarm clock with themes based on a few different games, including Zelda: Breath of the Wild and Super Mario Odyssey. The device uses a motion sensor to detect when you’ve woken up and have gotten out of bed. Records are also included to track how much you move around in your sleep and more. We’ve got it all covered a bit more here.

What are your thoughts on Nintendo Clock: Alarmo? Have you already ordered a unit or will you be picking it up at some point? Let us know in the comments below.

Highlights from last week’s topic: Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom impressions

I was going to wait and address some of my other backlog but my wife is a total LoZ fan and she bought it for me so I wouldn’t be the only one in the house not playing it.
Really enjoying it so far, lots of fun.

Only around 15 hours in. Quite a fun game. I can feel that it has something out of Nintendo design going on. But in a good way too, just like Capcom Zelda games beforehand.

Some personal negatives:
Just like any modern game they go for too many collectibles I think. Finding those starts to feel like a work more than a treasure. Some might like it more. World might be larger than needed really. Less fast travel to disconnect you from the world and shorter distances to make up for that works for me. NPCs could have names above their textboxes.

Really decent game so far. Going to enjoy it through. Always been fond of playing summoner in RPG’s when possible and this scratches that itch for me. Best game of this year for me personally so far. Cannot make an educated quess how high I rank it in Zelda franchise in the end quite yet. And the game looks fantastic. Soundtrack has great moments. We will see even more Zelda from Grezzo later thats for sure.

Yeah it’s pretty good

Yeah, this is another stone-cold classic Zelda and I’m loving it. It feels like a good marriage of BotW/TotK design and the more traditional Zelda design and I’m here for it. The only minor gripe I have is scrolling through the Echoes can get kinda tedious and some Echoes get overshadowed pretty quickly but other than that, it’s a great addition to the Zelda franchise.

Oof, it’s like they’re in a quest to outdo themselves with every game. I’m having so much fun in this 2.5D sandbox, it’s actually mind boggling. I mean, I can talk about the great world design, the cool rifts, the great music and charming atmosphere, but to be honest: This game let me fight a boss using 6 octoroks in a formation of 3 towers bombarding the heck out of it.

How could I not smile at that?
